Sexual Harassment

Thank you for your Freedom of Inlormation Request which we received on 15 February

2018.

Question

1. To ask the health board lor inlormation on how many cases of alleged sexual
harassment by NHS stall have been recorded in the past year.
If possible. could you indicate how many, If any, of the alleged victims were minors
(under 18) and ii the alleged victim was a patient or member of sialf.
Please also Indicate if the complaint was referred to the police or dealt with Iniernally
- and il so, how the matter was resolved (Le. complaint not upheld, verbal/written
warning, suspension or dismissal ol sialf member).

Response

1. In the past year NHS File has had <5 cases of alleged sexual harassment by NHS

staff. None of the alleged victims were minors (under 18). There were <5 alleged
patlent victims and <5 alleged staff Vlctims.

The numbers of allegations reported to the police was All allegations were
investigated or are currently being investigated internally and the outcomes were; <5
resignation, <5 suspensions, <5 cases progressing to Disciplinary Hearing, and <5
currently being investigated.
