Rewarding Arizona’s Teachers 

A 20% Salary Increase by School Year 2020. 

• A 9% pay increase this year in FY2019.
• Our plan includes a 9% increase across the board for Arizona’s teachers.
• This, in total with the FY2018 pay increase (1%), will total a 10% raise for every
Arizona teacher in the coming school year.
• The raise is permanent, ongoing and in the base (not a bonus).
• Additional salary increases will total 20% by school year 2020.

Investing in Arizona’s Public Education System

• A full restoration of recession-era cuts: $371 million in District Additional Assistance and
Charter Additional Assistance, phased-in over five years.
• This will begin in FY2019, with $100 million.
• $168 million in FY2020
• $236 million in FY2021
• $303 million in FY2022
• $371 million in FY2023
• These dollars provide flexible funding to support important school resources including:
• School Infrastructure
• Textbooks
• Modernizing Curriculum
• Updating Technology
• School Buses
Here’s How

The state’s revenues are on the rise and have been higher than originally projected,
combined with a reduction in state government operating budgets through strategic
efficiencies, caseload savings, and a rollback of governor’s office proposals included in the
FY2019 Executive Budget, more dollars are available to invest in two of Arizona’s most
important priorities: Arizona teachers and Arizona classrooms.
