Good Evening Kiannah -

Garry's statements are supported by multiple studies that continue to point to the high
cost of gun violence. You'll have to talk those who authored them to judge their work. But it is
undeniable that our City has absorbed a tremendous fiscal price as a result of this high level of
violence. There is also an incalculable cost to families, community cohesion and population
loss in our City because of fear of violence that drains the city tax base. The Mayor has failed
to make Chicagoans feel safe and we are continuing to see unacceptable levels of murder and
violent crime.

We launched our new website, garryformayorcom, on Monday. Each of the issue
sections were re-written to reflect the conversations Garry has had with citizens, stakeholders
and experts during the months he was exploring a run for Mayor. To be sure, as we look ahead
to laying out our plans in even more specificity we wi 'nclude the costs that high violent crime
rates have had on City government and too many families here in Chicago.
