Re: Visiting the West County Detention Facility
Dear Sheriff Livingston,
As requested by your office, I submit this letter to you regarding the opportunity to visit the West
County Detention Facility. The purpose of my visit is to gain insight and perspective of the general living
conditions in the facility including that of ICE detainees. The experience of detainees has been a
continuing topic of intense interest and concern by many of my constituents and compels me to gain
greater insight to be able to respond. I am seeking an in-person visit, along with some members of my
staff, to see the areas where detainees are housed and hear from them about their experience.
We are available for a visit sometime during the week of April 16 and you can contact my office to
secure a time that works for both of us.
