Permanent Mission of the Republic of Suriname to the United Nations



The Permanent Mission of the Republic of Suriname to the United Nations, in its
capacity as Chair of the Group of Latin American and Caribbean States (GRULAC)
for the month of April 2018, presents its compliments to the Permanent Missions of
the Member States of the GRULAC to the United Nations, and has the honor to
transmit the following:

0 Note No. 000264 dated 26 April 2018, from the Permanent Mission of the
Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela to the United Nations, infonning that in virtue
of the principle of reciprocity it is not in a position to support the request for
endorsement of the nomination of the Federative Republic of Brazil, to host the
25th session of the Conference of the Parties to the United Nations
Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP 25), expected to
take place from 11 22 November 2019, as communicated through the Chair?s
Note Verbale No. dated 25 April 2018.

The Permanent Mission of the Republic of Suriname, in its capacity as Chair of
the Group of Latin American and Caribbean States (GRULAC) for the month of April
2018, avails itself of this opportunity to renew to the Permanent Missions of GRULAC
Member States the assurances of its highest consideration.

The Permanent Mission of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela to the United
Nations presents its compliments to the honorable Permanent Mission of the Republic
of Suriname to the United Nations, in its capacity as Chair of the Group of Latin
American and Caribbean States (GRULAC) for the month of April 2018, in the
opportunity of making reference to the latter?s Note Verbale No. 
dated 25 April 2018, on the request for endorsement of the nomination of the Federative
Republic of Brazil to host the 25th Session of the Conference of the Parties (COP25) of
the United Nations Convention on Climate Change to be held from 11-22
November 2019.

In this regard, the Permanent Mission of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela to
the United Nations informs hereby that, in virtue of the principle of reciprocity, it is not in
a position to support the request contained in the communication in reference.

Moreover, the Permanent Mission of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela to the
United Nations respectfully requests the good offices of the Permanent Mission of the
Republic of Suriname to the United Nations, in its capacity as Chair of GRULAC for the
month of April 2018, to circulate this communication among the Member States of the
Group for their due information.

The Permanent Mission of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela to the United
Nations avails itself of this opportunity to renew to the honorable Permanent Mission of
the Republic of Suriname to the United Nations the assurances of its highest esteem
and consideration.
