Thank you for your willingness to accept this appointment as Interim Chancellor of The University of Tennessee,
Knoxville effective May 7, 2018. This letter records the terms of your appointment.

Your base salary while serving as Interim Chancellor will be $45,833.33 per month (annualized salary of
$550,000). During your appointment as Interim Chancellor, you will receive a non-accountable expense
allowance of$ 1,666.67 per month to assist in meeting expenses incurred in ful?lling your of?cial responsibilities.
You will also receive a housing allowance of $1,666.67.

The position of Interim Chancellor is without tenure, without a de?nite term but is expected to last six to twelve
months, and at the will of the President. Should you choose to remain a member of the faculty in the College of
Engineering at the conclusion of your administrative service, your appointment would revert to a full-time,
tenured faculty appointment based on an academic year (9?month) appointment at an annual salary that is in
accordance with the University?s then?current policy BT0023: Settingr Faculty Salaries Upon Conclusion of
Administrative Appointments.
