` MISSING FROM CARE REPORT AUGUST 2016 During the 4 week period between w/c 1.8.16 and w/c 22.8.16 there were 219 missing from care episodes. The details are broken down as follows: WEEK 1 (1.8.16) 43 episodes carried out by 33 young people (13 girls and 20 boys) WEEK 2 (8.8.16) 48 episodes carried out by 32 young people (8 girls and 24 boys) WEEK 3 (15.8.16) 50 episodes carried out by 33 young people (14 girls and 19 boys) WEEK 4 (22.8.16) 78 episodes carried out by 37 young people (12 girls and 25 boys) Total: 135 young people. The number of young people in occupancy on this period was 232. (61% boys and 39% girls) Girls accounted for 68 episodes (31% of all missings) and boys 151 episodes (69% of all missing). Spoke to- at length about this. Believes that her social worker is going to give her one hour free time soon and this will solve the problem.-- - have been waiting for approx 3 months for her social worker to confirm this free time. -Has recently gained free time for the first time and is struggling to manage this. Has just started college today. He is gravitating back to old school friends and staff suspect that he may have a girlfriend. Most of the missings are for short periods of time (one hour). Rarely answers the telephone to staff when he is travelling as he likes to listen to music on the bus and not be disturbed! Working towards the KIT programme and 16+ team are now involved.
