` MISSING FROM CARE REPORT JULY 2016 During the 4 week period between w/c 4.7.16 and w/c 25.7.16 there were 241 missing from care episodes. July - February 300 250 200 150 248 240 197 191 225 189 161 July - September 100 50 0 Any months with a * are 5 week months. 222 237 241 The details are broken down as follows: WEEK 1 (4.7.16) 77 episodes carried out by 40 young people (15 girls and 15 boys) WEEK 2 (11.7.16) 55 episodes carried out by 29 young people (10 girls and 19 boys) WEEK 3 (18.7.16) 63 episodes carried out by 36 young people (14 girls and 22 boys) WEEK 4 (25.7.16) 46 episodes carried out by 34 young people (17 girls and 17 boys) Total: 139 young people. The number of young people in occupancy on this period was 230. (62% boys and 38% girls) Girls accounted for 86 episodes (36% of all missings) and boys 155 episodes (64% of all missing). Isn't being reported missing elsewhere, refusing to come back from contact with girlfriends family. -Nothing appears to be working with- He has stated that he will continue to be defiant because he wants to and can. Manager has no concerns that he is actively making informed choices to behave in this manner and will continue unless a forced consequence is imposed--and -- have been over to hi_are planning an application through court for a secure bed. In the mean time they have agreed that show. be arrested again that he is bailed back to- as they have a 72hr secure order in place to hold him while a secure bed is identified. (Operations Manager) visiting this week. He is still going missing on a regular basis. He is not interested in any activities offered to him, and is not really engaging with the staff. Sometimes he is taking another young person with him. He has disclosed that he has been drug running. There is a meeting in Bristol w/c22nd August about his placement, however progress is slow as they have been looking since July last year. -The missing episodes are for 10mins/ 30mins. Manager is currently waiting on Social worker to allow me to up his reporting to 11pm so he will hopefully be home within that time -visited on 28'" July. Additional visit on 18"" August. MFC related to- spending time with his girlfriend and her family locally. He is in contact with the home. Not missing elsewhere. - Strategy meeting has taken place with social worker her line manager, - Safeguarding MFH Police, and YOT in attendance-'5 substance misuse issues have become all consuming to the point he is heavily involved in criminal activities within the community he is failing to engage with anyone or anything at this time. Concerns are being raised about the people he is associating with, as he has mentioned this particular drug dealer being after him, his aggression levels are through the roof, there have been numerous incidents of him using his physical size to intimidate barging into the office. Local authority are seeking secure bed on welfare grounds asap. -visited on 26'" July.- (substance misuse Ops is also due to visit)- spending time locally with peers. Receiving large amounts of money due to her job. Some substance misuse concerns being addressed. Generally settled at the home and usually remains in contact with staff. Almost 18.
