Bahia Principe Reactive Statement: April 2018  We  take  any  allegations  of  misconduct  very  seriously  as  Bahia  Principe  Hotels  &  Resorts  does not tolerate any forms of inappropriate behavior in our company.   As  a  brand  that  takes  pride  in  providing  a  safe  and  welcoming  environment  for  all  our  guests,  this  kind  of  behavior  is  unequivocally  unacceptable  and  not  in  line  with  our  company’s ethics.  Bahia  Principe  seeks to be fully transparent with its efforts to ensure our commitment to our  over  1.2  million  guests’  needs  and  safety.  We  have  and  continue  to  be  open  and  willing  to  collaborate with local authorities when called upon.   We  are  continuously  reinforcing  our  security  protocols  and  procedures,  staff  policies  and  recruitment efforts. This includes but is not limited to:   ● Revising our hiring process to include additional background checks and increasing  the minimum requirement of references.  ● Raising the number of mandatory trainings for all the 15,000 individuals we employ  throughout our 25 properties  ● Executing a new sensibility campaign to reaffirm our company culture and standards  among all employees   Individuals  who  commit  any  inappropriate  behavior  towards  a  guest  should  be  held  accountable,  and  we  as  an  organization  are  committed  to  doing  our  due  diligence.  When  in  doubt,  our  position  is  to  always  protect  the  guest  and  our  protocols  are  constantly  updated  to reflect this priority.  ● Upon receiving a complaint, in addition to taking a written statement, we will ensure  staff proactively and clearly alert the guest of our services to contact medical support  and / or law enforcement on their behalf   ● Bahia Principe will immediately suspend any employee accused of wrongdoing until  an investigation has been completed  Our  hearts  break  for  anyone  who  has  ever  been  a  victim  of  sexual  harassment  or assault of  any  kind.  Should  a  guest  ever  encounter  any  action  on  property  that  is  not  aligned  with the  respectful spirit of our brand, we urge them to immediately report it.   ###
