Dear Deputy Bowers:

On February 18, 2018, you were placed on paid administrative leave pending the
outcome of a criminal complaint that has been ?led against you. To date, we have
been given no indication as to when this matter is anticipated to be concluded.

Therefore, after consultation with the Personnel Committee, you are being directed
to return to work on Monday, June 4, 2018, for alternative assignments. Until such
time as the criminal matter is resolved, the Wisconsin Department of Justice, Crime
Information Bureau has inactivated your account to access TRAIN, and
WIJ IS. While you cannot be returned to active law enforcement duties, there is other
work available within the County which you would be able to perform.

Please report on Monday, June 4, 2018, at 7:30 am. to the Maintenance Director,
Jeff Ludwig on Second Floor of the Courthouse to work on maintenance projects in
the county. You are not to wear your Sheriff? 5 Department uniform, but are to dress
appropriately for the work you may be assigned such as jeans and a t-shirt. If you
have any questions in this regard, please contact Mr. Ludwig at 715-965-2539. If
Mr. Ludwig does not have enough work for you to do, you may be assigned duties
with another department within the County on an as-needed basis.

You will be assigned to work a 5-2 schedule, Monday through Friday, from 7:30
am. to 3:00 pm. with a 30-minute lunch break. This schedule could change
depending on the needs of the county. You will be paid your regular Deputy rate of
pay. If you would like to utilize any bene?t time (vacation, sick or personal days),
please contact me or Chief Deputy Woebekking who will coordinate with the
department to which you have been assigned.
