TAKE ACTION NOW – TELL CONGRESS TO LET THE WIND PTC EXPIRE
A single year extension of the federal wind PTC will cost U.S. taxpayers more than $12 billion, subsidizing a mature energy source through outdated policy that was
intended to help jump start the wind industry 20 years ago.
More important for Exelon and its employees, the wind PTC has an increasingly negative financial effect on Exelon. The PTC’s distortion of competitive energy
markets sends pricing signals that interfere with decision making at our plants and that reduce the value of our baseload assets in PJM.
Exelon supports the expiration of this subsidy on Dec. 31, 2012 – when it is scheduled to expire by law.
It’s time for government to stop picking energy winners and losers.
