Prior to my arrival, i made contact with the case worker, Ms. Terra Stephens, at the intersection of Donnan Road and Bowers Drive so she could inform me of the situation. Ms. Stephens stated she received a report that the mother was giving her son marijuana to help him with the seizures. Once I was advised ofthe situation, I escorted Ms. Stephens to the residence so she could start her investigation. Once I arrived on scene we made contact with the mother, Mrs. Suzeanna Brill, who stated that her son has multiple seizures and provides and allows her 15 year old son to ingest marijuana for the seizures. Mrs. Brill made the statement in front of me and DFACS. The stepfather, Mr. Matthew Brill, then came outside and made contact with us as well. While speaking with Mr. Brill he stated he does smoke marijuana and that is the only thing that helps the juvenile with the seizures. DFACS asked Mr. Brill if she could walk through the home and at first he advised a warrant would have to be provided but later agreed to let a walk? through occur. At this time, I contacted Lt. Gary to be en route to this address to assist with the call. I then walked through the house with DFACS and once that was concluded, DFACS called another subject to the residence to have drug tests done on everyone who lives at the residence due to the illegal substance use. By this time, Lt. Gary arrived on scene and once the other case worker arrived, I stood by with her and observed Mr. Brill and the juvenile take the drug test while Lt. Gary stood by with the residents. Ms. Brill tested Negative for marijuana. The Juvenile, Age 15, tested positive for marijuana and Mr. Matthew Brill tested positive for marijuana. Once the investigation was completed, Lt. Gary advised me DFACS will remove the child from the residence tomorrow April 20, 2018. Lt. Gary also advised me once i left the scene to take warrants on both Mr. and Mrs. Brill for Reckless Conduct. Lt. Gary then left the residence and I stood by while DFACS finished their investigation. Once DFACS was finished, i left the residence and returned to service. Warrants were taken for Mr. and Mrs. Brill for Reckless Conduct. Body Camera video and audio available.
