We have had a brief that about the noise ordinance. What can share with you is that noise ls a city wide problem and not only confined to areas around bars and taverns. Thefocus is often on those areas and I can tell you from experience that a noisy bar in a residential neighborhood can wreck havoc on the sleep of our residents. lt is difficult for us to understand why music has to be amplified outside the establishments or inside then with the doors open anytime after 11:00 pm, Are people not sewed enough by then to sWitch to a quieter form of entertainment. Live bands are the culprit. No way you can Control that volume. This morning was awakened at 4:54 am by the soothing (not) but all too familiar beep, beep, beep ofa trash hauler immediately followed by the crash of the dumpster. These dumpsters are all oyertown, lalways think of my friend Tonl who lived on Runnymeade and was awakened one day each week by the dunipste for Memorial School. Isn't a start time of 6 am reasonable? Worse in the summerand on Fridays when the workers want to get off early. I not be at the meeting tonight. We don't really feel appropriate for me to be sitting in the audience. ltyou have not had the pleasure of being kept up until 3 am orawakened by a trash truck orother noises..,please come Visit us and spend a night in our guest room, lthinkyou would be surprised. Thanks for considering this issue. Carol
