Sanders)   I am writing you today to admit fault and apologize for my actions on shift yesterday.  The facts are the facts and I’m not here to deny them or excuse them.  More people would learn from their mistakes if they weren’t too busy denying them.  As you are aware, I made an approximately 30 second AUDIO ONLY recording of a patient interaction yesterday.  I initiated this action on my own without any instruction, help, or involvement from any other crew members on scene.   While not justified, I did it, because I saw the scene deteriorating and a patient becoming belligerent toward the crew providing medical care.  Due to the recent events last year with an Orange County paramedic being accused of lewd acts by his inebriated female patient, I thought It would be a smart idea to record this interaction in the event false accusations were made.  It was not a smart idea and for that I whole-heartedly apologize.  I want to assure you that the recording was deleted last night at the dinner table witnessed by the entire crew after I let those not on scene hear it.  Lt. Sanders left the kitchen prior to all of this, once he heard what I had and was about to share.  I was never given a direct order, friendly reminder, or heads up that playing the recording was going to lead to all of this.  However, I accept the fault is all mine.  I realize the gravity of my actions and the position I have now put you in.  Again, I can only profusely apologize and promise it will never happen again.  I had a momentary lapse in judgement and made a mistake.      ENP Joshua Granada Station 10C     Sent from Mail for Windows 10
