STATEMENT FROM MAYOR EMANUEL ON SUPREME COURT RULING
“Banning people from coming to our country based on their religion or nationality is
unAmerican and discriminatory. Just because the Court said this is the President’s legal
right does not mean it is the right thing to do. Chicago was proud to join the legal fight
against the travel ban because as a city of immigrants in the heartland of a nation of
immigrants, we believe in welcoming those from all faiths and corners of the globe as we
have throughout our history.”
