CC: Michael Wolfe, Dean usiness Computer Technology Carole Gary, Director of Human Resources Date: April 3, 2018 Subject: Sexual Harassment Dr. Gaddis was the respondent in an allegation from a female student of sexual misconduct and sexual harassment, the conduct of which occurred between 2012-2014. The result of the investigation was a ?nding that Dr. Gaddis had sexually harassed the female student. The investigation and the subsequent report/decision was issued on March I, 20l 8. This is the third allegation against Dr. Gaddis of either permitting an atmosphere where harassment was allowed (2013) or engaging in behavior himself that was construed as sexual harassment (2015). It was made clear to Dr. Gaddis after the 2015 allegation that inappropriate behaviors as outlined in TBR Policies 6:01:00:00, 6:02:00:00, 6:03:00:00 and in PSCC policy 4:02:03 were prohibited and would not be tolerated in any form. While the College is unaware of any improper behavior on the part of Dr. Gaddis since September 15, 20l S, the report/decision issued on March 1, 2018 provides the appropriate basis for this written reprimand. To that end, if any additional allegations of sexual misconduct or sexual harassment are brought against Dr. Gaddis, the College will take immediate action, including suspension of Dr. Gaddis with pay, and if the allegations are supported, the College will take appropriate disciplinary action up to and including termination. The college will take the following steps to ensure our students and employees are in an environment free of harassment: 0 Dr. Gaddis is not to touch any student at any time except as necessarily required by the curriculum. Dr. Gaddis is not to touch any student or faculty member in or out of class for any other reason including but not limited to hugging and placing his hand(s) on another?s body part. - Dr. Gaddis is not to transport any students in his personal vehicle. Dr. Gaddis can transport students only in a College vehicle for College related events and only if there is more than one student in the vehicle with him. a Dr. Gaddis is not to have any closed door meetings with any students and should exercise great prudence in closed door meetings with others. 0 Dr. Gaddis is to complete sexual harassment training on a bi-annual basis in March and September of each year a Dr. Gaddis is to restrict his visits to the Culinary institute to necessary business related purposes to be outlined by his supervisor - Equity Compliance in conjunction with Human Resources will conduct sexual harassment and misconduct training for all culinary and hospitality students each semester as they prepare for careers in these disciplines My signature acknowledges that my supervisor has met with me and discussed the performance and/or behavior(s) outlined above.
