RE: Nashville General Hospital
Dear Chairwoman Brandes:
Thank you for your continued service to General Hospital. It is without saying that the hospital provides
an essential service for our city. As you are aware, in the upcoming days Mayor Briley will submit his
recommended budget and the Metro Council will begin budget hearings. As we move forward as a city
and in the budgetary process, we need to ensure that there is a commitment from both you and the
board members to drive continuity and sustainability for Nashville General Hospital; the Metro Council
has demonstrated its commitment. The Metropolitan Council continues to demonstrate its
commitment; however, in order to maintain the confidence of the Metro Council, it is critical that there
is continuity in the current Executive leadership for an opportunity to execute its plan for long term
sustainability, budgetary projections and public confidence.
