Revolution fired the male partner within hours of the incident. immediately after the incident and over the next several weeks, Revolunon's senior leadership team offered the female employee our lull support, including offering time off, counseling, and support in the aftermath of this event. We continued to check in with her to ensure she was getting the support she needed and deserved. Sometime later, the female employee decided to leave Revolution on her own volition. We encouraged her to stay and offered her a range of options, but ultimately she decided to move on and she announced her decision in an email to the staff. We wlshed her well and continue to wish her well. Beyond that, this article questions Revolunon's commitment to diversity and inclusion. For years Revolution has proactively worked to increase diversity in the progressive tech space by putting a large emphasis on training new organizers to expand the talent pool and seeking out women and people of color for open positions. Starting in 2015 we brought in a womenrowned HR specialty firm to help update and improve our HR manual and provide continuing support to ensure we have policies that reflect our values as our firm continues to grow. Page 1 of 2 We’re proud that RevoluSon is now a majority female firm and a majority of new hires over the last two years have been women and people of color. More than a half dozen women have been promoted into senior leadership roles in the last few years. Women and people of color at our company now include a partner, our COO, CHRO, the majority of our senior leadership, and dozens of managers and junior staffers. They include the senior most members of our email, adverSsing, graphic design, and public relaSons departments as well as the head of our internaSonal and West Coast office. We have always strived to live our values, and that includes treaSng our employees fairly and providing opportuniSes for professional growth and advancement, regardless of gender, sexual orientaSon or ethnicity. Many of the women and people of color in our senior staff advanced to those posiSons from more junior posiSons within the company, including our COO who started with us as an intern six years ago and went on to prove herself at every level to rise to COO. · We sSll have work to do, and RevoluSon is in the process of selecSng and retaining a first-class diversity consulSng firm to conduct a complete and thorough review of our pracSces, culture and how the firm is run. RevoluSon’s management will provide an all staff training on racial and gender discriminaSon, inclusion, and sexual harassment – and management training for managers. · We recently announced a new diversity task force made up of employees from each department. · Overseeing these changes will be our female Chief Human Resources Officer, formerly our HR director. We elevated this posiSon to a Clevel posiSon where it belongs and she will regularly solicit anonymous employee feedback on how RevoluSon can improve. · RevoluSon Messaging has a long record of standing strong on its progressive principles. When inappropriate staff behavior is brought to our aPenSon, we have taken swi] and decisive acSon to make sure our employees are held accountable – regardless of stature. We have fired clients for mistreaSng our staff and making inappropriate remarks, and turned away contracts from prospecSve clients that we and our staff would not feel comfortable working for. · It doesn’t maPer the seniority of the employee or the value of the contract. We only want to work with those who follow our values and treat others with respect. · RevoluSon is not perfect, Page 2 of 3 out thanks to our conversations with management over the past several days, we are confident that our company will always strive to be better. We intend to hold our company accountable and make sure we institute the changes that are proposed.
