When we lall short of those goals. we use it as a moment to step back and Page 1 of 2 think about how we can do better. When a reporter recently contacted us about a series of anonymous complaints around the treatment of some former employees, we were concerned around the suggestion that we hadn’t treated some employees fairly because we take those issues seriously. The primary incident in the story refers to inappropriate conduct by a male employee to a female employee more than two years ago. While it was not sexual assault or physical assault, it was inappropriate behavior that violated our firm’s values and the male employee was terminated within in hours of the incident. We also took immediate steps to support the victim. The story is still evolving, and we will share more info as we have it. It is our full intent to be transparent and cognizant of how this article may impact you. We also hope you will reach out to us directly to ask us if you hear of things that concern you. Page 2 of 3 ACTION ITEMS We will institute mandatory training of all staff, with special training for managers, on racial and gender discrimination and sexual harassment. We will establish and publicize formal procedures for raising and resolving HR issues We will launch a monthly engagement series led by employees. These roundtables will foster open discussion on diversity and inclusivity. We will retain in the next few days, a first-class diversity consulting firm to conduct a complete and thorough review of our practices, our culture and every aspect of how the firm is run; and we will commit to implementing their recommendations, which will be shared with all of you. We will seek your input. We are deeply committed to getting this right. This is your firm and we will work to combat the part-truths and mistruths about us while also resolving any issues that we uncover and improving our process in the days ahead.
