“My heart goes out to the families affected by the water main break. This failure highlights the need to
implement a capital improvement plan to upgrade the water and transportation infrastructure that is in
dire need of attention. Additionally, our city must be open, responsive, and accountable to our citizenry,
especially in their times of need. This accident should motivate us to reevaluate city policies in this area
and prompt us to begin a comprehensive review of all city codes, ordinances, and practices to ensure
they are reasonable, easy to understand, and supportive of city residents’ needs.”
