Dear Congressman O’Rourke:
I am pleased to extend an invitation for you to join Senator Cruz in five separate debates, conducted in English, to
take place in August, September, and early October, 2018. As Senator Cruz has long believed, our democratic process
is best served by presenting a clear and substantive contrast of competing policy ideas, and these five debates will be
an excellent way for both you and the Senator to share your respective visions with Texas voters in the weeks leading
up to the November election.
Because the Senate is expected to be in session during that time, each of these five debates will be scheduled on
Friday evenings. Additionally, each will occur in different cities across our great state, be one hour in length, vary in
format, and focus on critically important topics, as detailed below:
