From: Hankins, Tedd Sent: Saturday, November 11, 2017 9:12 AM To: 'Eilerman, Chris' Subject: More of Car Length In addition to shop interferences, at Broadway the front of the new car will interfere with a driveway when berthed. We also can currently place a down car at the end of Broadway and get another turned around in front of it, and that will not be possible. This also means that we will not be able get a CAF car in to tow or be towed. The existing loop to get out also will not work for the CAF car. At Fred Hutch there is barely enough room to get two cars in to affect a tow now and with either one or both cars at 75 feet, this will not work. The loop for coming off of Jackson on 8th will also leave us blocking 7th Ave while making this call. Note that we had to shave the concrete on the curb for on-line and off-line moves at this location and the longer Center section will likely result in more interference that we had with the Inekon cars. As you know one of the mitigations for delays is the ability to stash a down car and continue service. This is just a cursory look at the mainline effects. The analysis you are scoping should look at the entire alignment and TWC loop locations and come to us and talk about how we use these parts of the railroad. Thanks, Tedd
