REC EN ED 06 CQemsonW PM 3=5 PO. Box 1566, Clemson. South Carolina 29633, (803) esslh?idSUH OFFICE CHARLES F. CITY ADMINISTRATOR January 11, 1994 Angela Mulberry TV 7 220 N. Main street Greenville, SC 29601 Dear Angela: The City of Clemson/NFL story you ran on January 10, 1994 drew an erroneous conclusion that the City would be receiving a $30,000 "profit" from the NFL. This was based on expense of $50,000 and a fee of $80,000. The correct figures are that the City?s total expense is estimated at $80,410, which is $51,060 for the cost of operating the Police, streets, and Sanitation Departments for 10 "normal" days, plus $29,350 in additional expenses (such as overtime) for the 10 NFL game days. We have not yet concluded a fee from the NFL, but feel it is reasonable to expect the NFL to reimburse our expenses, and perhaps add something additional for the citizens who will be inconvenienced. I hope that this clarifies this matter, and will be pleased to provide additional information if necessary. Sincerely, Charles Helsel City Administrator CC Mayor/Council NFL Committee (CU and CDC members)
