PRESIDENT November 10, 1995 Mr. Fred L. Lewis, Jr. Millikan Co. Abbeville Plant P. O. Box 729 Abbeville, SC 29620 Dear Fred: Thank you very much for your letter and the expression of your concerns regarding alcoholic beverages used by attendees at Our football games. We noted a slight increase in the number of alcoholic incidents associated with the Georgia game. Our folks seem to believe this was attributable primarily to Georgia fans who have a rather heady tradition of drinking at football games, as well as the later starting time for this special event which allowed more people opportunities to sip beer prior to the game. I would also note that we have experienced no greater problems with alcoholic related incidents at our Panther games than at Our regular football games where, of course, no alcohol is sold. Our sense is that beer consumption is really minor at both the Clemson and Carolina football games, certainly reflecting the family values which are a part of the history of this institution. The Georgia game was an exception and one which we share your concerns. egards, Constantine W. Curris President POST OFFICE BOX 992 CLEMSON. SOUTH CAROLINA 29633-0992 TELEPHONE Boa/6563413 FAX
