DECLARATION OF ISA HOLSCLAW 1, ISA HOLSCLAW, state as follows: 1. I have personal knowledge of the facts set forth below, and I am competent to testify. 2. I attended Central Washington University as both an undergraduate and graduate student, from 2005-2013. I did not take any classes from Professor Manweller. 3. On November 20, 2006, I attended an American Israeli Pac bene?t dinner in Seattle, the purpose of which was to promote US. and Israel relations. Fredrick McDonald had paid for a table at the bene?t dinner, and several people from CWU were invited to attend, including Professor Manweller and me. I carpooled to the Seattle dinner with Professor Manweller from Ellensburg. 4. The AIPAC event had an open bar, and Professor Manweller was among the many individuals who I observed having a drink. As a result, I was not comfortable driving back over the pass with him. This is not because I thought Dr. Manweller was intoxicated, or that he had too much to drink; instead, it was because of my own policy not to ride in a car with anyone who has had anything at all to drink. Professor Manweller did not appear to be intoxicated. 5. On April 18, 2018, a woman identifying herself as Trish Murphy left a voicemail message requesting that I call her regarding Professor Manweller, which I did. (See attached screenshot.) Ms. Murphy explained that she was investigating Professor Manweller on behalf of CWU. She then proceeded to ask me what I considered to be very leading and inappropriate questions, which made me feel uncomfortable. In fact, Ms. Murphy kept trying to put words in my mouth, and seemed to get frustrated when I disagreed with her characterization of what I said. Throughout the interview, I felt like I was being pressured into saying things that were not true, or for which I had no personal knowledge. 6. For example, when I told her that I would not drive back from the AIPAC dinner with Professor Manweller, Ms. Murphy jumped to the false conclusion that I saw him drunk, which I had to correct. I also felt pressured by Ms. Murphy to say that Professor Manweller was driving while intoxicated, which I would not do, because I had no evidence of this. 7. Ms. Murphy repeatedly tried to lead me into saying that either I or other women were "uncomfortable" being around Professor Manweller, or considered him to have engaged in "inappropriate" or "unwelcome" behavior. Her leading questions were generally in the context of sexually inappropriate behavior. I have never felt uncomfortable around Professor Manweller, or felt that his conduct was ever inappropriate, and I let Ms. Murphy know this. I also told her that I never saw Professor Manweller act inappropriately with other woman. I also recall Ms. Murphy using the word "creepy", but I cannot recall the nature of the sentence or context in which she applied the word to Professor Manweller. 8. Ms. Murphy also asked me questions about Professor Manweller?s conduct in relation to a friend of mine, Ashley Sorenson. Overall, I felt Ms. Murphy was engaging in a "witch hun against Professor Manweller. 9. While I was a student at CWU, I attended a number of school-related functions where students and faculty members were drinking alcohol together. I also have personal knowledge of occasions where students would have drinks with faculty members in situations that did not directly involve school-related ?mctions I declare under penalty of perjury under the laws of the State of Washington that the foregoing is true and correct. 0 Rx) go?r 1 ,2018 Ellensburg, WA Isa Holsclaw 0 0 0 at Wahluke High School (2) Washington Seattle, WA Trish Murphy (2) Seattle, Washington Cle Elum, WA Ellensburg, Washington Suspected Spam Blocked by Call Protection Ellensburg, Washington ApriS Phone Apr18 Mobile Apr18 LandHne Apr18 Mobile Apr]?
