Second Arrest Made in a Homicide: 1200 Block of Mount Olivet
Road, Northeast
(Washington, DC) – Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s Homicide Branch
have announced a second arrest has been made in a fatal shooting that occurred on Wednesday,
June 13, 2018, in the 1200 block of Mount Olivet Road, Northeast.
At approximately 12:52 am, members of the Fifth District responded to the report of a shooting
at the listed location. Upon arrival, officers located an adult male victim suffering from a gunshot
wound. DC Fire and EMS responded to the scene and found that the victim displayed no signs
consistent with life. The victim remained on the scene until he was transported to the Office of
the Chief Medical Examiner.
The decedent has been identified as 43 year-old Larry Harrell, of Northeast, DC.
Previously, on Wednesday, June 13, 2018, a 16 year-old male, of Southeast, DC, was arrested
and charged with First Degree Murder while Armed.
On Thursday, August 2, 2018, pursuant to a DC Superior Court arrest warrant, 21 year-old
Dearren Robert Dawkins, of Southeast, DC, was arrested and charged with First Degree while
Armed.
