Spencer also found that orncer Gonzalez nad for a Traffic Grant on 03/26/2014 that was scheduled for 1330 to 0600. omcer Gunzalez' work hours are 0530 to 1530 Showlng an overlap of 30 rnlnutes. Gonzalez was found to have gone over her allowed 25 hours of overtime on three separate occassions. This policy violation occurred during the weeks of 02/02/2014 to 02/08/2014, 03/02/2014 to 03/08/2014 and 03/23/2014 to 03/29/2014. These incidents were documented on Supervisors Log 27427 and 27471. Officer Gonzalez was also found to have submitted for Grant Overtime that could have caused an overlap into her regular shift. Prior discussion or corrective action on this subject, including date, time and place: Lt. Spencer and Lt. Ramos both met with Officer Gonzalez on 04/08/2014 at approximately 1400 hours at the Westside Regional Command in reference to the above listed violations. Officer Gonzalez stated that she was aware of the 25 hour rule on overtime and stated that she was not aware that she had gone over the 25 hours. She also stated that she was aware of the Grant rules and regulations in relation to Grant hours overlapping into regular duty hours. Policy or rule on this subject: 2-501. OUTSIDE EMPLOYMENT B. Work hours may not con?ict with the employee's performance of duty. E. Outside employment is limited to 25 hours per week. 2-302. TIME KEEPING. 1. Officers may not work any grant or other reimbursed overtime while on any type of leave if the overtime worked falls within the regularly scheduled hours for which the leave is being taken. Example: An officer normally scheduled to work 8 AM 4PM may take leave (VAC, SPD or CT only) and work such overtime only if the overtime is worked before 8 AM or after 4 PM. Any overlap between the officer?s duty hours and the overtime assignment is a violation regardless of leave status. Summary of action to be taken, and timeline: Officer Gonzalez will adhere to the 25 hour overtime rule and and all Grant Overtime rules and regulations established in the El Paso Police Department's Policies and Prodecures Manual. Both of the above listed Supervisors Logs will be addressed using this Employee Discussion Form. EPPD FORM 36-22-108 Consequence of failure to improve performance or corrective behavior: Discipline will be progressive and will increase with further violations to include the initiation of a PID. Intended Improvement Employee?s Comments: Officer M. Gonzalez stated that the overage of overtime was not done intentionally and that she would monitor her overtime hours more closely. She stated that she was aware of the overlap of Grant ti .- - .- regular duty time but stated that she is always released early from h? . nt so that she does not go over into her regular duty hours that sh would not do this either.
