Your request was received by the City on June 5, 2018. The City will make available those documents which respond to your request which are not otherwise privileged by applicable law, including the Public Records Act. Under California public records law, a public agency has no duty to create records in response to a Public Records Act request. Rather, a public agency is required to make available for inspection and to make copies, available upon payment of the direct cost of duplication, of reasonably identified, non-exempt records and portions of records in the agency?s possession (see California Government Code Section 6253). You have requested for the department to do research and create eight ALPR data reports. The Citrus Heights Police Department does not create nor maintain these types of reports, therefore we are unable to produce copies of these documents. in your attached request, you provided information on where to look to create these reports. If you would like the department to do the research to collect the data, we charge a fee of $30.00 per hour for data research and compilation. We can only estimate at this time that creating these eight reports will take approximately 30 minutes to 1 hour to research and create the items you have requested for the aggregate numbers. I have created the additional reports you requested. The time of creation was 15 minutes. There will be no charge for this initial research, however should you require additional ongoing reports, there will be a fee charged of $7.50.
