Yes Agency Name: Univ. of Louisiana Lafayette Date Filed: 10/07/2017 The ULL softball team reported numerous Title IX violations to Dr. Joseph Savoie, Dr. Brian Maggard (AD), Dr. Jessica Clark Leger(Senior women's administrator); Patricia Cottonham (Dean of Students) Meagan Breaux (Director operational review and title IX coordinator, and SAAC. Violations reported include: gender inequality for softball team and staff, no athletic trainer for team, no physical function assessments for so?ball team players, inadequate medical care and insurance coverage for team players, not maintaining the softball ?eld, not maintaining the softball equipment, not providing water at Current status of the complaint: team practices, failing to investigate reported Instances of physical and/or sexual violence against team players, falling to investigate reports of player alcohol and drug abuse or provide players with rehabilitation, inappropriate contact by administrators to players. All reported concerns were dismissed and the softball coaching staff was ?red In retaliation on November 1, 2017 and the team was chained/locked out of the softball facilities and players were threatened with loss of scholarships, transfers were denied, etc. 6. Violations reported include: gender inequality for softball team and staff, no athletic trainer for team, no team strength coach, no physical function assessments for softball team players, inadequate medical care and insurance coverage for team players, not maintaining the softball ?eld, not maintaining the softball equipment, not providing water at team practices, failing to investigate reported instances of physical and/or sexual violence against team players, failing to investigate reports of player alcohol and drug abuse or provide player with rehabilitation, inappropriate contact by administrators to players. All reported concerns were dismissed and the softball coaching staff was ?red in retaliation on November 1, 2017 and the team was chained/locked out of the softball facilities and players were threatened with loss of scholarships, and all transfer requests were denied. The University failed to allow the associate head coach, a minority, to remain on staff or to assume the head coaching position, because he is black. Racial slurs made against players by other players were condoned by the ULL administration and complaints of slurs were ignored and dismissed; inappropriate dating relationships between players and new staff began to develop in the spring of 2018. The SAAC, of which I am a member, passed a voted to fund title ix in house investigation on November 6, 2017, after the vote was passed, all of the soltball players on the committee were removed from the SAAC by Dr. Jessica Clark Leger. ULL, HR, Athletics, all created a hostile environment against the Softball team. Players were bullied into giving false information against the team or recanting complaints. Players who recanted were rewarded with jobs, scholarships and perks, while players who upheld the truth of their complaints were harassed (ridiculed), benched, or not allowed to practice. On November 17, 2017 the ULL softball team was harassed and threatened by ULL game management and security to be turned into the NCAA and removed from the ULL basketball game without cause, while other ULL athletes of multiple sports were allowed to remain in the same area, only the softball athletes were targeted. Furthermore, have been on medical leave since November 2017, due to severe stress associated with the softball program. Despite my Dr.'s repeated requests that I not be contacted, the new i coach/staff continues to contact and harass me. January 22, 2018 was the last contact that the coach made.
