What will they pay as a hourly wage? camps versus using the local housing/hotel market? Dawson County has certain restrictions for and campers. We understand (rumor) that the decision has been made to not have a man camp in Circle, as Glendive has enough hotel rooms. Even after the letter from the Sheriffs. Logistical issue, there are 4 other pipelines going at the exact same time you are building, Oneok being one of them going straight south from Sidney who plan to use hotels as well. If we have to bring in LEO because of something bad they will not have a bed down site, near possible protests in McCone County near the river, they will be housed in either Miles City, or Sidney thus making 1.5 2 hour drive time to bed down both ways in a day. How is a local jurisdiction supposed to be able to fund the cost and mileage? The answer is they cannot. Have you spoken to the hotel industry in Glendive about this plan? Do we need to have a dialogue with Hotels, Local DES, and Trans Canada before this goes in place? The workers will be traveling back and forth and now it will be up to Dawson County 50, and Glendive PD to deal with any problems from workers, drinking etc. If they are not in the camps, how does the LEO make sure they will get their pink slips as we were told would happen? Or if they are out of sight and off shift is it not a problem for Trans Canada anymore? There are numerous concerns about illegal trailer parks, and places having the ability to service the RVs and correct dumps if you allow this (DEQ concerned and sanitarians) how will you address this issue? locals get hired by TransCanada for jobs? If not, where/who do they apply with? many simultaneous work sites will there be in Montana at any given time? 10 we arrest people for criminal behavior based upon a call or statement from either a TransCanada employee or sub?contractor they HAVE TO provide a written statement and also be available for any future court proceedings are they aware of that? Detailed timeline. and ability to capture all of the moving pieces for any and all work being done along the corridor Have you hired the local security person as indicated you were going to? State Department to Native American tribes. (U) The letter, dated April 10, and seen by Reuters, states that the Assiniboine and Sioux tribes were being notified of the upcoming work as part of government consultation aimed at minimizing any adverse effect on their historic territory in northeast Montana. (U) The 1,180-mile (1,899 km) Keystone XL pipeline project has been a lightning rod of controversy for a decade, hotly contested by environmentalists but desperately needed by Canadian oil producers who face steeper?than-normal crude price discounts due to transportation bottlenecks. (U) ?As you may be aware, TransCanada Keystone Pipeline, L.P. (Keystone) intends to begin vegetative clearing in preparation for the construction of the Keystone XL Pipeline (Project) this fall,? the State Department letter said. TransCanada Keystone Pipeline, LP. is a subsidiary of Calgary-based TransCanada. (U) Sent from the Bureau of Oceans and International Environmentai and Scientific Affairs within the State Department, the letter added that the work would invoive "ciearing vegetation to build the construction camps and pipe yards this fali (2018) with pipeiine construction to begin next year (2019).? (U) TransCanada has not yet made an official investment decision on the $8 billion pipeline, which would extend from Ha rdisty, Alberta, to Steele City, Nebraska, though the company has said previously that it expects to start construction in 2019. (U) When asked about the letter on Thursday, TransCanada said: "We are progressing towards a final investment decision. We expect construction to begin in 2019 and we are doing the necessary work to prepare for those activities.? (U) The State Department did not immediately respond to a request for comment on the letter, which also notifies the Montana tribes that they will be consuited on new survey work to be done in the spring and summer of 2018, due to a route change in Nebraska. 18 (U) US. President Donald Trump handed TransCanada a federal permit for the pipeline in March, reversing a 2015 refusal by former President Barack Obama. But the line has run into hurdles in Nebraska, where it was approved but not along TransCanada?s preferred route, and the approval is now being appealed. (U) ?The question is will they build a pipeline to nowhere?? said Brian iorde, a lawyer who represents Nebraska landowners fighting the pipeline. ?This is an investment risk analysis TransCanada must perform." TransCanada Corporation (TSX, NYSE: TRP) (TransCanada) today announced it has successfully concluded the Keystone XL open season. securing approximately 500,000 barrels per day of firm, 20 year commitments, positioning the proposed project to proceed. Interest in the project remains strong and TransCanada will look to continue to secure additional long-term contracted volumes. Today?s announcement builds on the November 20, 2017 decision by the Nebraska Public Service Commission to approve the Keystone XL route through the state. The approved route was based on a comprehensive review of the evidence submitted by all parties in the hearing process as well as state agencies to ensure it has a minimal impact to the public and to Nebraska?s natural resources. "Over the past 12 months, the Keystone XL project has achieved several milestones that move us significantly closer to constructing this critical energy infrastructure for North America," said Russ Girling, TransCanada?s president and chief executive officer. "We thank President Donald Trump and his administration for their continued support and appreciate the ongoing efforts of Nebraska Governor Pete Ricketts, the Nebraska legislative and congressional delegation, Omaha Federation of Labor, Nebraska State AFL-CIO, our customers and various stakeholders to advance this project. Furthermore, we appreciate Alberta Premier Rachel Notley for her government?s commitment to the project which was instrumental to achieving the commercial support needed to proceed,? added Giriing. TransCanada is continuing outreach in the communities where the pipeline will be constructed and is working collaboratively with landowners in an open and transparent way to obtain the necessary easements for the approved route. Construction preparation has commenced and will increase as the permitting process advances throughout 2018, with primary construction expected to begin in 2019. The project is expected to generate tens of millions of dollars in local tax revenues, supporting ?rst responders, schools and hospitals, as well as roads and other local infrastructure. Today's announcement builds on the November 20, 2017 decision by the Nebraska Public Service Commission to approve the Keystone XL route through the state. The approved route was based on a comprehensive review of the evidence submitted by all parties in the hearing process as well as state agencies to ensure it has a minimal impact to the public and to Nebraska's natural resources. ?Over the past 12 months, the Keystone XL project has achieved several milestones that move us significantly closer to constructing this critical energy infrastructure for North America," said Russ Girling, TransCanada?s president and chief executive officer. ?We thank President Donald Trump and his administration for their continued support and appreciate the ongoing efforts of Nebraska Governor Pete Ricketts, the Nebraska legislative and congressional delegation, Omaha Federation of Labor, Nebraska State our customers and various stakeholders to advance this project. Furthermore, we appreciate Alberta Premier Rachel Notley for her government's commitment to the project which was instrumental to achieving the commercial support needed to proceed,? added Girling. TransCanada is continuing outreach in the communities where the pipeline will be constructed and is working collaboratively with landowners in an open and transparent way to obtain the necessary easements for the approved route.
