However, it should be noted that there are extensive guidelines already in existence covering how RTE staff and programmes carry out their functions. They include RTE Journalism Guidelines and RTE Programme Content Standards. They specifically highlight areas such as accuracy, impartiality, editorial integrity and independence as well as serving the public, all of which are core values to RTE.
