The Senior Leadership Council (SLC) wanted to extend our sincere
appreciation and support of you during what has been a trying time for
yourself, the leadership team and all CalPERS team members. Rest assured
that the SLC has taken your message to heart and we remain focused on the
CalPERS mission.
We greatly appreciate you coming to our September 6th meeting, as well as
addressing the entire enterprise at our CalPERS Live All Team event,
speaking candidly and encouraging us to ask questions and share concerns.
You asked the team to rise above the divisive personal attacks in the media
and arm ourselves with facts to have meaningful conversations with family and
friends about the security of the funds and their pensions.
It is both refreshing and reassuring to have a CEO who is sensitive to and
supportive of those she is charged to lead. You emulate accountability and
transparency and model our core values daily. We were very moved by your
message at CalPERS Live, as was the room who gave you a standing ovation.
We are confident that CalPERS has the right leader at the helm, and are
grateful to work in partnership with you for our members and beneficiaries.
Please let us know if there is anything more the SLC can do to support you,
our Executive Team and the CalPERS Board. Thank you for all you do.
