'V Hi Noel, Thank you for sharing the information. Just trying to keep you informed from our end. The Miami meeting sounds fascinating! On that topic I passed by the wind farm today near Roosevelt Roads. I can't believe the blades broke off. We traveled from Salinas around to Fajardo and back to San Juan. We stopped in at the Guayama and AES Coal plant. They both have generation and are waiting for the transmission lines to be established. There is a lot of work to do and the mountains are going to be a challenge. There were, however, many crews out today, including helos flying transmission line and heavy equipment uprighting transmission towers. They are out working. And you are right, this will be expensive. I am glad the FEMA/FOMB relationship is well received, as we are working toward the same goal. Our legal team is best in DC. I will check with HQ on and other offices that might be good. I am thinking Keith Turk, Assoc Administrator for Recovery. Let me call him tomorrow. Safe travels and let's stay in touch. I passed it along to Natalie. Up in Miami for the CREF (Caribbean Renewables Energy Forum). Tons of interest in PR as you can imagine. I’ve fielded several calls today from folks who want to integrate into near and mid term efforts. We could integrate them into planning but it may be a better fit for the reconstruction efforts and cost estimate i FOMB-CPI-0019342 development that FEMA would be working. If you don’t mind, I can make the intros (the two important ones are Tesla for near term “generator substitution” and GE for T&D engineering work). The congressional testimony for Tuesday was postponed to November. Chairman Bishop may have Natalie and I just go to his office instead. I still plan on visiting your FEMA legal team, and the calendar has opened up considerably. Let me know if there is anyone else I could engage. FWIW, I spoke to the staffer who was running this testimony session and told him about the FEMA / FOMB connection, and some of the concerns we share about rebuilding the grid without a long term operations plan. He was ecstatic. More to follow - hope your trip today was useful. I’d really like to hear your thoughts on the status of the island. PREP As estimate of 1.38B for electric grid recovery I believe is off by a factor of almost 5. PR is current on its payment plan but it's monthly payment of $141K is due by October 31. This is likely of interest to the Board. By the way, I am doing power infrastructure assessments on the east side of the island today so I will have very limited comms today. Hope the WH meetings go well today.
