Dear Ms. Love and Ms. Clagett:

The Board of Elections has received inquiries from a number of voters regarding a
campaign mailer entitled ?Your 2018 Of?cial Sample Ballot? and bearing an authority line for
your Slate Committee and Ms. Clagett, as Treasurer.

The mailer uses the term ?Of?cial? and contains the statement ?If you need more
assistance, you can reach us at (410) 222-6600 and someone will be glad to assist you.? Since the
phone number provided is that of the Board of Elections, there is an implication that the mailer is
the of?cial sample ballot which the Board mails to all registered voters in the County - which of
course it is not.

While campaign materials and other voter solicitations are freely permitted under law,
falsely implying that those materials are of?cial in nature or the product of the Board of Elections
is not. Accordingly, you must immediately cease and desist from the use of any campaign
materials which imply or assert that they have been produced or provided by the Anne Arundel
County Board of Elections.
