Gm?omhaireacht N?isit'lnta um Bhainistiocht S?cmhainni National Asset Management Agency 19 October 2018 Ken Foxe Right to Know CLG 25 Herbert Place Dublin 2 Email: ken@righttoknow.ie Re: Request under the Freedom of Information Act 2014 FOI Request Ref: 2018-000029 Dear Mr Foxe, I refer to your request under the Freedom of Information Act 2014 (the Act?) dated 23 September 2018 seeking access to records held by NAMA. I have now made a ?nal decision to grant your request and a copy of the record for release is attached. By way of background, NAMA does not pay salaries to debtors as it is not their employer. NAMA, in certain cases, permits debtors to retain part of the income from their income-producing assets to pay overheads where necessary for the preservation and enhancement of the value of property securing 'rts loans. Overheads typically fall into two categories: (1) costs associated with the repair and maintenance of properties, (2) insurance premia, local authority rates and professional fees. These costs may include an allowance for the remuneration of debtors and their staff to manage the assets. This occurs in cases where the Agency decides that this is the most cost effective option in terms of maximising the return for the State in line with statutory objective. Whilst your request has been granted, in the event that you are not happy with this decision, the FOI Act provides a requester with a right of appeal. You can seek an internal review of this decision by writing to the Freedom of Information Unit, National Asset Management Agency, Treasury Building, Grand Canal Street, Dublin 2, 002 XN96 or by e-mail to foi@nama.ie. Your correspondence should include a fee of ?30 (?10 for holders of a Medical Card and their dependents) for processing the appeal. Payment should be made by way of bank draft, money order, postal order or personal cheque made payable to National Asset Loan Management. If you wish to make payment by electronic means, please contact the Unit. anomhaireacht N?isi?nta um Bhainiscfocht S?cmhainm' National Asset Management Agency Treasury Building, Sr?id na Can?lzicb Moire, Baile Atha Cliath 2 Treasury Building, Grand Canal Street, Dublin 2, +353 1 665 0000 You should make your appeal within 4 weeks (20 working days) from the date of this noti?cation.
