JOHN, Attached are copies of pertinent portions of our file. This is a case of liability
caused by of?cer David Henderson rear ending the plaintiff 3 vehicle.

The accident took place 7?20?96. Of?cer Henderson was driving a 1987 Buick and hit
the plaintiff in the rear end. The officer indicated his brakes did not hold, but no detect
was found by the Service Center. The vehicle was 9 years old and had just over l05,?790
miles at the date of the accident. The brakes were last checked at 94,8l 5 miles when the
front brake pads were replaced and the rotors checked. The rear shoes and drums were
replaced at 83,246. Since Knox County services the vehicle and no outside shop is
involved, and since no indication of a product defect, I feel we have no liability defense.
