INDUSTRIES INC - ?a KOCH I CHARLES G. Koc?: Chairman and Chief EXECUIIVB O?ice December 23, 1975 Dear Rocky Mountain Oilman: I urge you to support the Libertarian Party and its Presidential candidate, Roger L. MacBride. I have been a supporter of Libertarian activities since the early 1960's and have found them to be the only effective way to combat the rapidly increasing governmental control over all aspects of our lives. Prior to that time, I supported the Republican Party but abandoned them in disgust when I found that in Spite of their free enterprise rhetoric they were no better allies in the fight for free enterprise than the Democratic Party. President Ford's signing of 8.622 (the Energy Policy and Conservation Act in Dec- ember of 1975) after maintaining he was for oil deregulation is one of many demonstrations of the bankruptcy of the Republican alternative to Democratic interventionism. Ford's and Nixon's reversals on such important issues as wage and price controls and default of New York City are further examples of selling out by those who claimed to be "friends of free enterprise? For nearly ten years, Roger MacBride and I have worked together attempting to advance ideas of liberty and free enterprise. Over this period we have become good friends and I have grown to respect his ability and integrity. Roger is both a successful businessman and a noted constitutional lawyer and scholar. He is far better fitted to be President than any candidate of any party has been in my lifetime. EXECUTIVE OFFICES. POST OFFICE Box 2258 I KANSAS 87201 TELEPHONE 316?832-5500
