NELSON was interviewed by Investigator WOLFE via telephone after several attempts to reach her. On June 1. 201 8 approx. 1300
hours. NELSON was asked about the crash and NELSON stated don't remember it, I don?t know what happened." NELSON
related that she was still off work with rib and back pain from a collapsed lung suffered in the crash.
Jane DOE #1 was in the front passenger seat and was wearing a seatbelt. She suffer minor bruising and soreness to her neck
from the crash. She was treated at Children?s Hospital.
Jane DOE #2 was in rear seat and was seat belted. She suffer minor neck pain and was treated at Children's Hospital.
Jane DOE #3 was in a child car seat and belted into the right rear seat. She suffered a laceration to her mouth. She was treated at
Children's Hospital.
STIFFY was on scene when Investigators arrived. The following is a summary of the interview and not verbatim unless quoted.
was driving on the 10th St Bypass in the left lane. He was headed towards the Convention Center. While under the 6th
Street Bridge, the black SUV was passing him on the right when it began switching lanes. While coming across into his lane; the
SUV struck the right front tender of his car. The SUV started to turn sideways and went across the road towards the river. When
the SUV was in the opposite lanes it was struck by the white car. this caused the SUV to turn over from bottom to the top.
STIFFY drove past the scene however as soon as he could, he turned around and went back. STIFFY was not injured from the
crash. He was wearing his seatbelt during the crash.
was operating his vehicle westbound on the 10th St Bypass when Unit #1 came across his lane of travel.
MARKILINSKI was not able to stop his vehicle prior to the collision with Unit and he struck the SUV in the right side causing it
to overturn.
MARKILINSKI suffered critical injury as a result of the crash as an unrestrained driver. He was transported to Allegheny General
Hospital by Pittsburgh EMS. MARKILINSKI was pronounced deceased by Dr. NOORBKASH at 1727 hours.
On May 13, 2018 an autopsy was conducted and Dr. WILLIAMS, Medical Examiner, determined MARKELINSKI died as a result of
blunt force trauma to the neck and trunk as driver in vehicle collision. Manner of Death: Accidental.
