Monroe County Sheriff?s Office 2016030325 On Saturday December 31, 2016, I, Deputy Maples was patrolling the area of Pate and Rivoli Road when i observed a white Toyota Corolla with very dark window tint. I initiated a traffic stop on the vehicle using the emergency equipment on my patrol vehicle. At this time, we were travelling north on Georgia 19 South. The Corolla began to slow down but continued to travel for several hundred feet turning into Heritage Farm Subdivision. I approached the vehicle on the passenger side and made contact with the driver and passenger. I identified the driver using his Georgia Driver?s License as David Maynard Morris Jr. and the passenger using her name of a date of birth as Dasha Marie Fincher. Both subjects came back with suspended licenses. At this time i asked them to step from the vehicle. I noticed Fincher became very nervous and started to shake. When I asked Morris where he was heading, he stated to a friend's house and he pointed to a house a few hundred yards away. At this time, Corporal Williams asked for consent to search the vehicle, to which both occupants stated yes. During the search Corporal Williams found a plastic bag filled a blue like substance in the passenger side floor board. When Corporal Williams asked the occupants what was in the bag, Fincher became very anxious. Fincher stated that the baggie contained cotton candy. Based on the packaging and its like feature, Corporal Williams tested the substance using a field test kit for Methamphetamine and MDMA. The field kit gave positive reading. Fincher and Morris were both placed under arrest and transported to the jail. A wrecker was contacted to transport the vehicle to an impound lot. Upon our arrival to thejail, an authority to hold was filled for both subjects. David Morris received a citation for Driving While License suspended. I will be seeking warrants for Trafficking Methamphetamine on both Fincher and Morris. WMZZ 5 Reporting Officer: 41an
