Knutson President, RECEIVED APR 09 2018 ?lm WATER SALT LAKE Central Colorado Water Conservancy District January 13, 2010 Million Conservation Resource Group 139] South Townsend Montrose, CO 81401 Re: MCRG Regional Water Supply (Green River) Project Dear Mr. Million: In conjunction with the Environmental Impact Statement process that the Army Corps of Engineers (?Corps?) is conducting, you have asked for an indication of whether the Groundwater Management Subdistrict of the Central Colorado Water Conservancy District (GMS) is interested in acquiring water ?'orn the MCRG Project. We understand that Regional Watershed Supply Project is designed to provide water from the Green River watershed in Wyoming and/or Utah for use in Colorado. We also understand that the Corps has asked you to provide indications of interest in acquiring water to assist it in the analysis of the purpose and need for the MCRG Project and its identi?cation of alternatives to the Project. The Groundwater Management Subdistrict of the Central Colorado Water Conservancy District is a public agency located in Weld, Adams, and Morgan Counties in Northeastern Colorado. At the present time, GMS provides replacement water to augment alluvial groundwater pumping for agricultural, municipal, and industrial water users within our District. These water users at the present time can operate at a 35% allocation due to very limited replacement sources for their alluvial groundwater consumption. We anticipate that shortages in replacement water supplies will increase in the future. We are interested in acquiring additional water supplies. While we obviously cannot commit to acquire water from the MCRG Project absent agreement on price and all other terms, we can express an interest in exploring the acquisition of up to 50,000 acre-feet per year from the MCRG Project and in negotiating with you to explore such an arrangement. We would like to be considered a potential participant and you may communicate that interest to the Corps and/or other permitting agencies for the purpose of their conducting their analyses. Thank you for your interest in the Groundwater Management Subdistrict of the Central Colorado Water Conservancy District.
