I would like to introduce you to the Global Climate Coalition - an
association of businesses and business organizations that are working with
scientists, policymakers and others to responsibly address global climate
issues. The Coalition is chaired by Tom Lambrix of Phillips Petroleum and
staffed by Jana Oakley and others of the National Association of
Manufacturers. I am employed by the Southern Company and serve the Global
Climate Coalition as a liaison for members of the Senate and Senate
Committee staff.
During the next two months, I or another Coalition member will call you to
arrange a brief visit to tell you about the organization. We are also
planning an event in early January to give you an opportunity to hear from
the Coalition's leaders.
I have enclosed some information about the Coalition, its membership and a
description of its mission and principles. Also enclosed are two recent
articles about the issue that might be of interest to you.
