For example, the institutional penalties or sanctions imposed on an organization or individual student are stated in the University’s Student Code of Conduct (see: https://studentaffairs.lehigh.edu/content/code-conduct). Descriptions of behavior in this Report generally follow terminology used in the Timothy J. Piazza Antihazing Law. No. 1 Subject of Report Varsity Football Date of Initial Report August 22, 2013 Description It was reported that fourth-year varsity football players compelled first-year players to form a single file “conga” line and sing “I’m a fuzzy bunny” in the dining hall, which continued until the coaches saw and immediately stopped the activity. No charges were filed. 2 Alpha Omega Epsilon Sorority November 6, 2013 Penalties imposed: None. The Office of Student Conduct spoke with the coaching staff and the matter was resolved informally. The Alpha Omega Epsilon professional sorority had extended new member education beyond the University’s six week limit and as an initiation task planned to compel prospective members to sneak into a local restaurant, draw on the chalkboard, take a photo, and “escape before anyone notices”. New member activities were temporarily suspended pending an investigation. The sorority was charged with hazing, failing to show respect for others, and failing to follow rules and regulations. Result of conduct process: Sorority was found responsible for hazing as well as all other charges. 3 Zeta Tau Alpha Sorority and Pi Kappa Alpha Fraternity January 14, 2014 Penalties imposed: Disciplinary probation through May 17, 2014. Educational sanctions including a comprehensive overhaul of chapter new member programming and chapter member development programming. Zeta Tau Alpha and Pi Kappa Alpha co-hosted a social event at which underage students were provided alcohol and marijuana, and both the fraternity and sorority failed to get medical assistance for a visibly intoxicated female. The sorority was charged with unauthorized consumption, distribution or possession, failing to act in a civil manner, intentionally furnishing false information, and hazing. The fraternity was charged with violations unrelated to hazing. Result of conduct process: The sorority was found responsible for hazing as well as all other charges. Penalties imposed: The sorority was placed on deferred dissolution through December 31, 2014 and disciplinary probation through May 31, 2015 and was to be alcohol free through December 31, 2014. The sorority was also required to implement sanctions imposed by their international headquarters and to write a self-reflection regarding the incident, the outcomes, and the No. 4 Subject of Report Alpha Gamma Delta Sorority Date of Initial Report February 17, 2014 Description future of the chapter. Both organizations were required to work together with the Office of Fraternity and Sorority Affairs on a comprehensive educational program on the University Medical Amnesty policy for the entire fraternity and sorority community. It was reported by a student that new members of Alpha Gamma Delta had to follow certain guidelines. They were not supposed to be in communication with non-members, not allowed to be alone without another pledge or member while on campus, and were compelled to be at the sorority house during breaks in their schedules. No charges were filed. 5 Pi Beta Phi Sorority February 17, 2014 Penalties imposed: None. It was reported by a student that Pi Beta Phi was requiring new members to download a smartphone app that allowed them to be tracked via GPS. Not applicable February 18, 2014 Not applicable April 1, 2014 Not applicable March 30, 2014 March 25, 2014 April 11, 2014 Result of investigation: The chapter officers and new members were interviewed but the information could not be verified. No charges were filed. 6 Delta Phi Fraternity March 13, 2014 Penalties imposed: None. It was reported by an anonymous individual who identified as a parent that her son, a new member of Delta Phi, was compelled to consume alcohol, engage in activity adversely affecting his mental health or dignity, engage in forced calisthenics, and was subject to other incidents of hazing, including incidents that he could not disclose because he had been told that pledging activities are secret and could not be discussed. Result of investigation: University police did a walk-though of the chapter house and did not see evidence of hazing. Two new members were interviewed and denied being hazed in any manner, and the chapter’s new member educator and president also denied hazing. Insufficient evidence to support a charge of hazing. No charges were filed. 7 Kappa Sigma Fraternity March 23, 2014 Penalties imposed: None. It was anonymously reported that pledges were forced to endure brutality of a physical nature, including activity adversely affecting their mental health or dignity or that could result in extreme embarrassment, and that pledges had been seen with cuts and bruises. Result of investigation: Two alleged victims refused to speak with police and one no longer attended Lehigh by the time the incidents were reported. No charges were filed. 8 Phi Sigma Kappa Fraternity March 24, 2014 Penalties imposed: None. New members of Phi Sigma Kappa were compelled to chalk “BigA SUX” in as many places as possible around campus. The fraternity was charged with hazing, failing to follow rules and regulations, and providing false information. Result of conduct process: Fraternity took responsibility for hazing as well as all other charges. Penalties imposed: Disciplinary probation through December 31, 2014. No. 9 Subject of Report Delta Phi Fraternity Date of Initial Report Description Date of Charge(s) Date of Resolution August 27, 2014 During a summer building check of the University-owned Delta Phi fraternity house a University police officer found a notebook containing information about the Spring 2011 new member education program, including but not limited to coerced consumption of alcohol, lineups, servitude, sleep restrictions, and other degrading actions towards new members. Members of the Delta Phi fraternity had earlier provided false information during investigation into these activities (see report at No. 6). The fraternity was temporarily suspended effective December 2, 2014 pending an investigation. The fraternity was charged with hazing, conduct that threatened or endangered the health or safety of any person or group of people, intentionally furnishing false information, violating University residential living policies and policies relating to use of the University computer network, encouraging or facilitating others in actions that violate the Code of Conduct, the unauthorized or illegal consumption, distribution, or possession of alcohol, and consumption or distribution of alcohol or other drugs in a manner detrimental to one’s health and safety (or the health and safety of others). February 21, 2015 March 6, 2015 September 26, 2014 November 5, 2014 April 8, 2015 May 1, 2015 Result of investigation: Fraternity took responsibility for hazing as well as all other charges except consumption or distribution of alcohol or other drugs in a manner detrimental to one’s health and safety (or the health and safety of others), and was found not responsible for that charge. 10 Phi Kappa Theta Fraternity September 6, 2014 Penalties imposed: Dissolution through February 21, 2019. On two separate occasions Phi Kappa Theta hosted off-campus parties at which they provided hard alcohol, beer, and wine without control or monitoring, and members sang a drinking song with offensive lyrics and which encouraged other members to consume large quantities of alcohol. The fraternity was charged with failing to act in a civil manner, violating the University’s harassment policy, hazing, intentionally furnishing false information, encouraging or facilitating others in actions that violate the Code of Conduct, the unauthorized or illegal consumption, distribution, or possession of alcohol, and consumption or distribution of alcohol or other drugs in a manner detrimental to one’s health and safety (or the health and safety of others). Result of investigation: Fraternity took responsibility for hazing as well as all other charges. 11 Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity October __, 2014 Penalties imposed: Disciplinary deferred dissolution through December 31, 2015, disciplinary probation through December 31, 2016. The fraternity was to be alcohol-free through December 31, 2015. Educational sanctions including developing a long-term comprehensive plan for addressing the harm caused; completing a written report on their internal audit; and participating in restorative dialogue. Kappa Alpha Psi required a new member to participate in acts of personal servitude including shoveling snow and cleaning initiated members’ apartments. The fraternity was charged with hazing, intentionally furnishing false information, and violating University residential living policies and policies relating to use of the University computer network. Result of conduct process: Fraternity took responsibility for intentionally furnishing false information and violating University policies. Fraternity was found responsible for hazing. Penalties imposed: Disciplinary deferred dissolution through December 31, 2015 and disciplinary probation through May 31, 2016. Educational sanctions including development of a presentation outlining their recruitment and intake process to be used with Dean of Students and other University staff; development and execution of a program on hidden harms and hazing; development of a transparent explanation of their recruitment and intake process to serve as a template for other organizations; No. 12 Subject of Report Men’s Rugby Team Date of Initial Report November 19, 2014 Description and obtain approval of all new member education activities from the Office of Fraternity and Sorority Affairs at least two weeks in advance. It was reported by a new member of the Men’s Rugby club sport team that new members were required to consume large quantities of alcohol, participate in scavenger hunts, and eat food items in a manner that was considered hazing. No charges were filed. 13 14 Alpha Omicron Pi Sorority Theta Xi Fraternity February 27, 2015 March 3, 2015 Penalties imposed: None. It was reported by an anonymous individual that new members of Alpha Omicron Pi were being subjected to sleep deprivation, forced exclusion from social contact, and forced conduct which could result in extreme embarrassment and that would adversely affect the mental health or dignity of the members. Result of investigation: Chapter officers and new members were interviewed but information could not be verified. No charges were filed. Penalties imposed: None. However, the sorority submitted a report to the Office of Student Conduct evidencing that they were able to have educational discussions about how to avoid these types of violations and to improve as a chapter overall. It was reported by an anonymous individual who identified as the aunt/uncle of a new member of Theta Xi that new members were subjected to hazing, including brutality of a physical nature and forced conduct that produced embarrassment or ridicule. Not applicable March 18, 2015 Result of investigation: Both the national office of the fraternity and the University conducted investigations but information could not be corroborated. No charges were filed. 15 16 Pi Beta Phi Sorority Alpha Tau Omega Fraternity March 30, 2015 April 11, 2015 Penalties imposed: None. It was anonymously reported that new members of Pi Beta Phi were being forced to consume alcohol and engage in forced conduct which could result in extreme embarrassment and that would adversely affect the mental health or dignity of the members, including giving lap dances. Four new members, the chapter president, and the new member educator were interviewed and all denied allegations of hazing. No charges were filed. Penalties imposed: None. Three first-year students and one second-year student were arrested in another state for charges related to theft and vandalism, which was determined to be Alpha Tau Omega new member pledging activity. The fraternity was charged with hazing, failing to act in a civil manner, failure to comply with reasonable requests of University officials, intentionally furnishing false information, and encouraging or facilitating others in actions that violate the Code of Conduct. The students were charged with violations unrelated to hazing. Result of conduct process: Fraternity took responsibility for hazing as well as all other charges. Penalties imposed: Disciplinary deferred dissolution through May 13, 2016 and disciplinary probation through May 31, 2017. Educational sanctions including conducting a new member review, new member suspension (pending outcome of the review), and developing a chapter education plan. Not applicable April 28, 2015 April 24, 2015 May 2, 2015 No. 17 Subject of Report Ultimate Frisbee Team Date of Initial Report October 23, 2015 Description It was reported that new members of the Ultimate Frisbee club sport team were given “frisbee” nicknames, some derogatory, and that team members who failed to use those names were slapped or hit. It was also reported that birth names were referred to as “slave” names. No charges were filed. 18 Phi Delta Theta December 25, 2015 Penalties imposed: None. However, the team worked with the Dean of Students office to change their practices to no longer use the term “slave” name or imposing punishment for failing to use nicknames. It was reported by a parent that his son had been “hazed” by Phi Delta Theta brother. Result of investigation: Incident was determined not to be hazing but rather an internal dispute over possession of a fraternity house master key. No charges were filed. 19 Marching 97 Band December 30, 2015 Penalties imposed: None. It was reported by a staff member that a student’s writing sample contained information that could be construed as physical, mental, and emotional hazing by the Marching 97 band. Result of investigation: Band officers and first year members were interviewed but no evidence of hazing was found. No charges were filed. 20 Alpha Omicron Pi Sorority February 12, 2016 Penalties imposed: None. However, the band worked with the Office of Student Conduct to ensure that new members are educated on hazing and how to report, and all activities at band camp were reviewed with Marching 97 to ensure compliance. It was reported by an anonymous individual who identified as a parent of a new pledge that new members of Alpha Omicron Pi (which was not the sorority her daughter was affiliated with) were compelled to consume drugs or perform an oral sex act, and were subject to brutality of a physical and mental nature, including activity involving embarrassment, harassment or ridicule. Result of investigation: The new member educators and numerous new members of Alpha Omicron Pi were interviewed and all denied allegations of hazing. No charges were filed. 21 22 Alpha Tau Omega Fraternity Kappa Sigma Fraternity Phi Kappa Theta Fraternity April 5, 2016 Unidentified Fraternity February 8, 2017 Penalties imposed: None. It was reported by an anonymous individual who identified as a Gryphon (a residence hall assistant) that the University has an “ongoing, escalating and current hazing epidemic” and that the reporting system resulted in pledges being “more harshly hazed”. Three fraternities were specifically named. Result of investigation: It was determined that no reports against any of the fraternities named had been received during the 2015-2016 academic year. No charges were filed. Penalties imposed: None. It was reported by an anonymous individual who identified as a parent of a new member of an unidentified fraternity that the University’s new member pledging had been extended by several weeks, that hazing occurring on campus should be considered No. Subject of Report Date of Initial Report Description Date of Charge(s) Date of Resolution brutality of a physical and mental nature, and that Student Affairs and the Office of Fraternity and Sorority Affairs condoned hazing and would tell fraternities and sororities about parental calls of concern, which resulted in more brutality of a physical nature and retribution to new members. It was reported by a parent that her son and other first-year students went to an invitation only dinner party hosted by an unidentified fraternity, and were then compelled to play a “hotel game” in which they went from room to room and had to “drink what they were given” without always knowing what was in the glass, and that “all of the houses have been having these ‘dinner parties’”. She further reported that she had heard of other incidents of hazing on campus, including being compelled to run naked through the woods, being pushed down stairs, and being subject to brutality of a sexual nature. Result of investigation: No investigation conducted. 25 Delta Upsilon Fraternity February 12, 2017 Penalties imposed: None. A University police officer suspected hazing when he observed six first-year students carrying cleaning supplies into a residence. They identified themselves as new members of Delta Upsilon and it was determined that new members were required to be at an off-campus house to clean up after a party. The fraternity was charged with hazing, violating University residential living policies and policies relating to use of the University computer network, intentionally furnishing false information, unauthorized or illegal consumption, distribution, or possession of alcohol, and failure to comply with reasonable requests of University officials. Result of conduct process: Fraternity was found responsible for hazing as well as all other charges. 26 Theta Xi Fraternity February 13, 2017 Penalties imposed: Disciplinary probation through May 15, 2018. The fraternity was required to take a leading and meaningful role in planning and executing the 2017-2018 hazing prevention week and to develop a risk management policy based on best practices and applicable to on- and off-campus events. It was reported by an anonymous individual that all members of Theta Xi’s pledge class had experienced hazing. Result of investigation: Five new members and the chapter president were interviewed and all denied allegations of hazing. There was no information that would warrant moving forward with charges. No charges were filed. 27 Sigma Phi Epsilon Fraternity February 15, 2017 Penalties imposed: None. A new member of Sigma Phi Epsilon was believed to have sodium poisoning and hospitalized after drinking 5 oz. of soy sauce “on a dare”. The fraternity was placed on temporary suspension pending outcome of the investigation and then charged with hazing. The varsity softball team compelled first-year members to wear fluorescent yellow shirts, sing and dance in an embarrassing manner, compete in a “bobbing for apples” type game at another house, and drink large amounts of alcohol. The team was charged with irresponsible distribution of alcohol, unauthorized consumption, distribution, or possession, and hazing. The team was required to review its activities in relation to alcohol use to ensure they were not putting new members into difficult or unwanted situations. It was reported by an anonymous individual that new members of Kappa Alpha were subject to brutality of a physical nature, including exposure to the elements. Result of investigation: Two new members, the chapter president, and the new member educator were interviewed and all denied allegations of hazing. No charges were filed. 30 Sigma Chi Fraternity February 18, 2017 Penalties imposed: None. It was reported by an anonymous individual that Sigma Chi forced pledges to consume alcohol and endure brutality of a physical and mental nature, including activity adversely affecting the mental health or dignity of the individual. Result of investigation: Each new member filled out questionnaires concerning the allegations, none of which substantiated the allegations. The chapter president also conducted an internal investigation and found no evidence to substantiate the claims. No charges were filed. 31 Kappa Sigma Fraternity March 1, 2017 Penalties imposed: None. The Kappa Sigma fraternity compelled new members to carry “pledge packs” containing condoms, cigarettes, and other items. Police detected an odor of alcohol on the breath of an underage member. The fraternity was charged with hazing, intentionally furnishing false information, and the unauthorized or illegal consumption, distribution, or possession of alcohol. Result of conduct process: Fraternity took responsibility for hazing as well as all other charges. 32 Alpha Gamma Delta Sorority March 2, 2017 Penalties imposed: Disciplinary deferred dissolution through December 31, 2017 and disciplinary probation through May 31, 2018. As an educational sanction the fraternity was required to attend a workshop covering the rights and responsibilities the chapter incurs when taking a new member class. New members of Alpha Gamma Delta were compelled to attend a day of classes wearing animal outfits (e.g., cheetah print, cow costume, etc.). Sorority president acknowledged that several “spirit days” had been planned for the week leading up to initiation but claimed that new members were not required to participate. The sorority was charged with hazing. As an educational sanction the sorority was required to work with the Office of Fraternity and Sorority Affairs and the Alpha Phi sorority to create a program for the following year’s “Hawks Against Hazing” week to explore the University’s definition of hazing, the idea of consent as it related to hazing, and the nuances of identifying hazing behavior. New members of Alpha Phi were compelled to attend a day of classes dressed alike (baggy shirts and “Princess Leia” buns in their hair). Sorority president acknowledged that new members and new member educators had decided together to do this but claimed that not all new members participated. The sorority was charged with hazing. As an educational sanction the sorority was required to work with the Office of Fraternity and Sorority Affairs and the Alpha Gamma Delta sorority to create a program for the following year’s “Hawks Against Hazing” week to explore the University’s definition of hazing, the idea of consent as it related to hazing, and the nuances of identifying hazing behavior. It was reported by an anonymous individual who identified as a parent that his son (a new member in Alpha Tau Omega) and his friend (a new member in Theta Chi) both felt they did not have time to study because of the amount of time they were required to be at the fraternity house and other off-campus houses doing things like bringing sandwiches to members, cleaning the house, etc. Reports by other anonymous individuals identifying as parents of new members in Theta Chi reflected similar allegations. Theta Chi was placed on temporary suspension pending an investigation. Theta Chi was charged with hazing. Result of investigation (as to Alpha Tau Omega): Insufficient information to support a charge of hazing. No charges were filed. Result of conduct process (as to Theta Chi): Insufficient information to move forward with the charge. 35 Chi Phi Fraternity March 24, 2017 Penalties imposed: None. It was reported by a student that a possible hazing incident had occurred at an off-campus party when a member of Chi Phi yelled at and belittled a new member and made him stand outside and face a cement wall for an extended period of time. Result of investigation: The reporter (witness), the alleged victim, the chapter president, the new member educator, and several new members were all interviewed, and every fraternity member denied the incident. The witness would not agree to testify at a hearing and no corroborating information was found. No charges were filed. 36 Theta Xi Fraternity March 24, 2017 Penalties imposed: None. It was anonymously reported by a student that members of the Theta Xi fraternity compelled a first-year student to consume alcohol and engage in forced calisthenics. Result of investigation: No corroborating evidence was found and the identity of the reporter could not be identified. No charges were filed. Penalties imposed: None. No. 37 Subject of Report Phi Kappa Theta Fraternity Date of Initial Report March 25, 2017 Description The University received several reports, both from students and anonymous individuals, about possible hazing by Phi Kappa Theta, including compelling new members to stay out late and clean for extended periods of time, and to drink cups of hot sauce. While investigating the reports University police found a first-year student intoxicated at the fraternity house. Phi Kappa Theta was placed on temporary suspension pending an investigation. No charges were filed. 38 39 No Specific Organization or Individual Identified April 7, 2017 Alpha Tau Omega Fraternity April 10, 2017 Penalties imposed: None. It was reported by a parent that her son was considering a transfer from the University as a result of an “extreme party culture” on campus, including hazing. No specific organization, individual, incident, or behavior was identified. Result of investigation: No investigation conducted. Penalties imposed: None. A first-year student pledging Alpha Tau Omega reported to a staff member that he had no time for anything else but pledging activities, but that he could not quit the fraternity because it would be “social suicide”. While he was making the report another member of the fraternity interrupted and may have intimidated him to stop talking and to leave the meeting. Result of investigation: The incident was determined to be suspicious but there was insufficient evidence to charge the fraternity. No charges were filed. 40 Delta Chi Fraternity April 29, 2017 Penalties imposed: None. It was reported that four new members of Delta Chi were found to be intoxicated on another university’s campus and that one had been seen masturbating while watching pornography in the library. Result of investigation: It was determined that this was not a hazing-related incident. No charges were filed against the fraternity. 41 Alpha Chi Omega Sorority December 11, 2017 Penalties imposed: None. Alpha Chi Omega planned a scavenger hunt (road rally) in which participants received points for various acts including sexual activity, the use of drugs and alcohol, ingesting foods and other liquids. Second-year student members were compelled to create the scavenger hunt list of activities and third-year members were compelled to participate in the event. Alpha Chi Omega was placed on temporary suspension pending the outcome of investigation. The sorority was charged with hazing, failing to act in a civil manner, failing to serve as ethical representatives and to hold each other accountable, encouraging or facilitating others in actions that violate the Code of Conduct, the unauthorized or illegal consumption, distribution or possession of alcohol, and failing to report and/or knowingly being in the presence of a violation. Result of conduct process: The sorority took responsibility for all charges except hazing. Sorority was found responsible for hazing. Penalties imposed: Disciplinary dissolution through May 31, 2020. No. 42 Subject of Report Psi Upsilon Fraternity Date of Initial Report January 26, 2018 Description It was reported by a staff member that a Snapchat video showed men in the Psi Upsilon house cheering while another man with his head in a trashcan was spun around and hit with a bat until he was pushed into a pile of trashcans to knock them over. It was believed that most of the individuals involved were former members of Sigma Chi, which had been dissolved in November 2017 for incidents not related to hazing. Psi Upsilon was placed on temporary suspension pending an investigation. No hazing charges were filed. 43 Chi Phi Fraternity January 30, 2018 Penalties imposed: None related to hazing. It was reported by a member of Chi Phi that a first-year member attending a fraternity rush event in New Jersey was accidently left behind by the fraternity and then robbed and assaulted by unknown individuals. During the investigation the first-year member reported that he did not believe he had been purposely left behind. Result of investigation: No charges were filed. 44 Alpha Phi Sorority February 6, 2018 Penalties imposed: None. It was reported by a Gryphon (a resident hall assistant) that she had overheard a student say that she and other students pledging Alpha Phi were not allowed to take a bus or Uber to the sorority house but instead had to walk. Result of investigation: Members were interviewed but the information was not determined to be credible. No charges were filed. 45 Pi Kappa Alpha Fraternity February 12, 2018 Penalties imposed: None. New members of Pi Kappa Alpha were required to be at the chapter house at all times, participate in lineups, clean, etc. and they had little time for sleeping or studying. The fraternity was placed on temporary suspension pending outcome of the investigation. The fraternity was charged with hazing, furnishing false information, and providing alcohol to underage members. Result of conduct process: Fraternity was found responsible for hazing as well as all other charges. 46 Theta Xi Fraternity February 14, 2018 Penalties imposed: Disciplinary deferred dissolution through March 22, 2019. The fraternity was required to be alcohol-free through May 25, 2018 (on campus) and through December 31, 2018 (off campus). Educational sanctions required a membership review and taking an active role in planning Hazing Prevention Week during the Fall 2018 semester. It was reported by an anonymous individual that Theta Xi was subjecting pledges to brutality of a physical nature. Result of investigation: University police immediately went to the location where hazing was allegedly occurring and walked through the premises. Nothing out of the ordinary was observed in the shower area and the chapter president denied any knowledge of new member activity. No charges were filed. 47 Kappa Alpha Fraternity February 25, 2018 Penalties imposed: None. Kappa Alpha pledges were forced to wake up at 6am every morning and were not permitted to go to bed until at least 2am, had been called for lineups several times a week, were forced to wear jean shorts to every event with a sorority, and forced to work out when already sleep deprived. New member activities were temporarily suspended pending outcome of the investigation. The fraternity was required to be alcohol-free through August 1, 2018 (on and off campus). The chapter was permitted to resume new member education no earlier than April 4, 2018. Lambda Theta Alpha was not permitting pledges to engage in regular social contact with friends, walk in certain areas on campus, use hair products or makeup, and they were forced to diet, work out, and attend retreats every weekend where they were not given enough to eat. Educational sanctions including working with the Office of Fraternity and Sorority Affairs to determine a meaningful role that members could play in helping to plan and execute hazing prevention week during the Fall 2018 semester and enhancing new member education plan to include specific expectations of new members and any activities they are expected to be involved in. It was alleged that Phi Sigma Kappa had compelled their pledges to convince a woman to show her breasts at a bar and that a second-year male student had asked a female student to do so. Result of investigation: This was determined to be the act of one new member and not directed by the organization. No charges were filed against the fraternity. The student was charged with a violation unrelated to hazing. 50 Delta Chi Fraternity April 21, 2018 Penalties imposed: None. It was reported that two new members of Delta Chi had been “dropped off” at another university campus as part of fraternity hazing ritual and that they became disruptive. Result of investigation: The students were interviewed but denied that the event was hazing. The fraternity was not charged. The students were charged with violations unrelated to hazing. 51 Unidentified Fraternity November 22, 2018 Penalties imposed: None. It was reported by anonymous individuals who identified as parents of a first-year student that members of unidentified fraternities had compelled their son to consume alcohol and drugs and to engage in activity involving embarrassment, harassment or ridicule.
