Dear Mr. Bergman:

The National Ri?e Association Training Department contacted you via email on October 25, 2018
to request that you reach out to two of your instructor candidates and ensure they were correctly
counseled on how to get credit as an Assistant Instructor and eventually achieve upgrade to
Certi?ed Instructor status, to which you readily agreed the same day.

Today you had a phone conversation with the Training Counselor Program Lead, of whom you
proceeded to demand that the Training Department intercede on your behalf and communicate to
the Assistant Instructor that she would have to completely retake the Pistol Instructor course, to
include the Shooting portion. During this rambling, disjointed, and profane phone call you
admitted to having not conducted the pre-course quali?cation for this candidate, and that you had
simply accepted her Basics of Pistol Shooting certi?cate with a Level 4 quali?cation. Finally, you
stated to one of the staff ?It?s your invitation to shut the fuck up now.? This statement was
witnessed by ?ve separate Training Department staff, including myself.

Due to your ongoing derogatory conduct towards NRA staff in emails and telephone
conversations, this most recent infraction combined with the admission to not upholding NRA
policy is cause for grave concern. The Education and Training Division no longer has con?dence
that you are capable of proper conduct as a Training Counselor.

In light of this situation, the NRA Training Department has revoked your status as an NRA
Certi?ed Instructor and Training Counselor. As a result of this revocation, you may not conduct
any part of any NRA course, order restricted training materials, issue any certi?cate that bears the
NRA name, or claim to be an NRA Trainer. You are further directed to remove any and all
references to these quali?cation from your website.
