Dear Amy;
I regret to inform you that in light of the government’s
changes to autism funding as announced today, I must
resign my position as your Legislative Assistant, effective
immediately.
I believe that the Minister’s decision to move to a funding
model that does not address individual need will be harmful
to most children with autism. I cannot, in good conscience,
remain in a post where I would be required to defend the
indefensible.
It has been an honour to work for you, and I wish you all the
very best in your future endeavours.
