Feb 8th 2019 To: Barnabas Christian Academy, Parents, Teachers and Staff From: Michael Woodbury For the best part of the last year I have been the CEO of Barnabas Christian Academy DBA the Nation Christian Academy. As most of you know I have had my fair bit of controversy this past year. I want to state for the record that my behavior was wrong and was very unbecoming as a professional. I sincerely apologize to all those I have let down. I apologize to my community, to my city, to the parents and staff. I did not anticipate leading this organization when It was asked of me to lead. My good friend and mentor Bill Reed passed away this past year and the responsibilities fell into my lap. I am a businessman, not a school leader. I feel that I have done a good job for the most part aside from my very public shortcomings. The truth is my deepest motive was to only push young people to be the best they can be. I had hoped that our community would have given me the chance to set things right and prove to everyone that my sincerest motive is to see young people succeed. I would like for Barnabas Christian Academy to continue and also to have a chance to be the great school I know it can be! In order for the school to achieve its highest potential, I am going to step aside. As of today I have removed myself from the Board of Directors and resigned my positon as CEO of Barnabas Christian Academy. Kimberly Baumgardner, the current Executive Director of Saint Lucie Christian School has assumed the position of President of the Board of Directors and will serve as CEO of Barnabas Christian Academy as of Feb 8th, 2019. This has been in the works for the last few weeks and we are happy to make it official! Sincerely, Michael Woodbury
