From: To: Subject: Date: Webmaster Children of the Confederacy plaque removal Thursday, January 31, 2019 10:48:05 AM I support protecting, preserving, and RESTORING, the Children of the Confederacy plaque to the State Capitol ASAP, as well as protecting ALL Texas memorials to ALL soldiers and All wars. It should never have been removed without a vote made available to ALL Texans to decide. The State of Texas, or the peoples state, is no more if decisions such as this is left to the discretion of a few, when it represents us ALL. Very disappointed at this governing boards actions! This is a preservation board? Pretty poor skills if you allowed this to happen. I could understand better, if it were only left wing progressive democrats, but republicans? You are NOT representing the people of Texas who elected you! Return it immediately! Sincerely & respectfully yours, Mrs. Debbie Redington From: To: Subject: Date: Webmaster "Children of the Confederacy" plaque Thursday, January 31, 2019 10:05:10 AM Greetings, I have a suggestion for what to do with this racist relic. I think it should be entrusted to the care of the Texas Chapter of NAACP, or the National Museum of African American History in Washington, DC, or possibly a museum of the Holocaust. These entities are well-suited to getting the context of such atrocious examples of hatred, ethnic cleansing, human slavery, and other shameful tendencies of the human race in the last several centuries. I hope that we can trust you to make a decision that transcends the lowly origins of this hateful, ignorant monstrosity that has stained the halls of the Texas statehouse for so long. Sincerely, Jesse Sublett 512..576.3496
