"Children of the Confederacy Creed" Plaque

Sirs:
I am very glad to hear that the "Children of the Confederacy Creed" plaque will, at last, be
removed from our Capitol Building in Austin. However, please do not return it to the United
Daughters of the Confederacy. They gifted the State of Texas with this loathsome plaque 60
years ago and it should remain in the state's possession. I believe this plaque should be placed
in an appropriate museum and used as a learning tool to demonstrate the kinds of lies
promulgated by groups such as the United Daughters of the Confederacy.

Dear Preservation Board
The Confederacy plaque is true. Slavery was Never the cause of the war. It was money. Taxes
and tariffs!. If people such as yourselves would take time to read ACTUAL historical accounts
and not jump on the liberal PC wagon, maybe things would be better. Yes, slavery may have
been listed on secession papers but it was a form of states rights. With that being said..
southern states had already started freeing slaves to abolish slavery. Slavery had to phased out
or you would have what actually happened.
On the 1860 census ( pre war ) the south already had more freed men if color than the north.
Even Their President Lincoln said the war wasnt over slavery.

I would first say keep it in some SPB... but better yet, might even be best to give it back to the
Daughters of the Confederacy that first gave it to the State of Texas.
