The driver and sole occupant of the'vehicle at the time-communicated that he was not iniured, and advised that he had slid off the roadway. The driver exited the vehicle and was positively identified by his Florida Driver?s License as Alexander Jamonte Collins DOB: The vehicle, a 2016 Chevrolet Corvette was bearing a Washington State Registration Plate of BAY1126 which motor vehicle records showed expired on 06/05/2018. After the vehicle was removed from its initial resting place a probable caLIse search. of the vehicle was conducted. He voluntarv signed the ?Miranda waiver form at 1005 hours. Collins was asked to explain the events leading up to and including the crash that he was involved in prior to his arrest. He stated that he was at a party with his friend on Garden Road in the Towson area. Collins advised that they left the party together around 0400 hours on 03/01/19. He noticed that was carrying a large clear glass iar which contained marijuana. Collins stated that he drove to the partan Towson and did not have the marijuana with him at that time. They both entered his Corvette as was holding thejar of mariiuana. Collins began to drive home from Towson to the Owings Mills area. Once in the Owings Mills area Collins lost control of his Corvette due to the snow covered roads. Once the vehicle was disabled, got out of the Corvette and walked to his residence. Collins advised that he called and began to wait for a tow truck torespond. He fell asleep in the car and was woke up by the officer knocking on his window. He went on to sav that he bought the gun in the state of Washington in 2017. Collins advised that he also owns 3 Glock 19 handgun as well as three rifles. He described the three rifles as an two types of long guns. He also stated that he had suppressors for the . weapons. Collins advised that those ?rearms are located within his residence at ?Court Reisterstownj Maryland 21136.. Collins was asked if he had any marijuana in that residence. He stated that he should have personal use amounts of marijuana in his home. When asked where the marijuana would be located in his house Collins stated that it would just be laving around. Detective Strong asked Collins how he smokes the marijuana and he replied "Backwoods?. Detective Strong_knOws through his training, knowledge and experience that Backwoods cigars are often used for their outer cigar shell as a smoking device to smoke/inhale marijuana a schedule controlled dangerous substance. Detectives Strong and Sterling observed the large glass jar containing marijuana which was recovered from Collins? Corvette. Detectives recognized the marijuana in the jar through their training, knowledge and experience. Dunaway agreed and responded to the pOlice station. He'was escorted to an unsecured conference room within the police station. He was reminded of his Miranda rights as they were read to him at the scene. Detective Strong then produced a Miranda waiver form and asked Dunaway to review his rights and ign the form if he agreed to speak about the incident that he was involved with earlier in the day. Dunaway signed the Miranda waiver at 1308 hours. He began to describe the events leading up to and including the crash that he was involved in while a passenger in Collins? Corvette. Dunaway communicated that he'did not see the jar of mariiuana until the crash. It was at that time the jar of mar?uana came from behind his seat. Dunaway advised that he has. observed large amounts mariiuana inside of Collins? residence and knows him to-often ossess the same. He was asked for Collins? address at which time he showed Detective Strong his cell phone which had a text message from it showed a home address of a; as a response to ?send me your address?. Officer McDowell #5819 and Baltimore County Narcotics Detectives responded ml . Reisterstown, Maryland 21136 at approximately 1831 hours with Defendant- Collins. Defendant Collins was escorted to his residence, Sgt. Marley knocked and announced police with a search warrant.,Sgt. Marley then allowed Defendant Collins to open hisunlocked door to his residence and secure his dogs. No other subjects were located inside the residence. Sgt. Marley and Detective Strong asked Defendant Collins if he had any large sums of money or valuables in the home and he advised no. An orderly search was then conducted. Mariiuana was located on the dining room table, which was less than 10 grams. Two rifles, (A Smith and Wesson 15 SN: TF26328 a Daniel Defense DDM43OO SN: 0DlVl4118521) were located inside the residence. The Smith and Wesson was located in a bedroom and the Daniel Defense Rifle was located in a closet. Both weapons were found unsecured.
