Caroline Mulroney, W5, CTV's national current affairs program, is currently producing a television program about Ontario?s Training Schools. W5 recognizes that this is a sensitive topic. Our goal is to look at the issues in depth and provide an opportunity for all sides to express their position. We do recognize that there is an ongoing class proceeding against the Province of Ontario on behalf of persons who resided at the Province's Training Schools. The Plaintiff alleges that members of the class were physically, sexually and abused at the Schools. It is also alleged that the Province of Ontario breached its ?duciary and common law duties to the class through the establishment, operation, and supervision of the Schools. We believe it is important that our viewing audience hear what the Minister has to say about the Training Schools in a sit-down interview with W5 providing background and context to the allegations. In the interests of fairness and responsible journalism, we hope to ask the Minister about her position regarding the most recent and former allegations, the reasons the W5 Bell 9 Channel Nine Court.
