April 1, 2019 Dear Plessy Families, I am writing to follow up on the status of the water filter installation at Plessy School. Contractors from Orleans Parish School Board (OPSB) were on site first thing this morning to install the filters. In order for the filters to work, the water pressure at the school needs to be at a certain level. Unfortunately, when the water pressure was tested, the pressure did not meet the minimum requirements for the filtration installation to take place. OPSB has submitted a rush request to have booster pumps installed on our water lines to bring the pressure up to the necessary level to allow the filter installation to proceed. As soon as OPSB provides us with the timeline we will share it with you. In the meantime, OBSP has agreed to provide the school with bottled water. We greatly appreciate the continued urgency OPSB has shown in responding to this issue, and their support in providing bottled water for our students. We will continue to provide updates as necessary, and as always, if you have any questions or concerns, please reach out to me at any time. Sincerely, Meghan Raychaudhuri Head of School Homer A.
